Job Summary

Are you looking to kick-start your career? Do you enjoy making things, tinkering or creative crafts? Then our apprenticeship could be for you!

Imperial College London is a science-based university with an international reputation for excellence in teaching and research. Central to our success and ability to innovate are our technicians, who provide solutions to engineering problems and vital technical support. That’s why we’ve developed a Technician Apprenticeship Scheme- to train the future technicians who go on to work in our world-class workshops and laboratories.

Duties and responsibilities

Our apprentices specialise in either Mechanical or Electronic Engineering and combine their studies with on-the-job training across a range of our busy workshops. As well as earning a competitive salary, you will build a wide range of technical skills and gain formal qualifications that will help you in your future career.

Essential requirements

Applicants will need (or expect to gain) grade 9–6 (A*-B) at GCSE in Maths and Science and grade 9-4 (A*-C) in English. No prior work experience is required. We want to hear about things you have made, including projects at home, work or school – make sure you tell us about this in your supporting statement!
