Home to four specialist schools – Allied Health Sciences, Applied Social Sciences, Nursing and Midwifery, and Leicester School of Pharmacy – the Faculty educates and develops professionals who make a significant difference to lives, health, wellbeing, communities and society.

The dedicated facilities are designed to replicate current practice and feature industry-standard equipment, enabling staff and students to undertake life changing projects to improve health and social care.


To assist with the provision of core services required in the Faculty laboratories and practice areas. This includes support to the biological services unit (BSU) and a range of science-based laboratories and practice areas. To provide required gases, liquid nitrogen, solvents and associated equipment from stores and assist with the correct disposal of a range of wastes from both teaching and research laboratories. To assist with moving, setting out and checking of equipment in both laboratory and clinical practice areas. To act as a First Aider, to have a role within the evacuation team for the faculty, and to assist in the receipt of chemicals and equipment into the faculty as required.

Ideal Candidate

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated team player with good communication and IT skills. You should possess a minimum of two science A levels or equivalent, or be able to demonstrate practice based experience in a similar field. Recent experience of supporting laboratory or clinical areas would be an advantage. You should have a good working knowledge of relevant Health and Safety issues including COSHH.
