The NTDC is launching a new funding opportunity for our Partner Affiliates’ technicians.
Earlier this year, we asked our Partner Affiliates to fill in a questionnaire about their experiences with Covid-19 and how we can best support them through this time. Amongst the ideas we suggested was our new Technician Development Fund, a funding opportunity for on the ground technicians. We were pleased to see a great response to this initiative, which will support a variety of activities including the attendance of conferences, small projects, travel for shadowing opportunities and the facilitation of networking events.
Respondents noted that there was a lack of funding opportunities in this areas, as well as a lack of financial support from their institution.
Thanks to this feedback, we are delighted to announce that applications for the NTDC’s Technician Development Fund will open on 1st September 2020.
The Technician Development Fund provides technical staff with an opportunity to access small-scale funding (up to a maximum of £250 per application) to support technical initiatives. In particular, we are looking for activities which may be appropriate for dissemination to the wider technical community.
Applications will open 1st September 2020 and will close 29th November 2020.  All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their submissions by 18th December 2020. Activities for which funding is sought should take place between 1st January – 31st August 2021.
