The NTDC introduces a new SMart mentoring scheme, aimed at supporting technical staff in Higher Education.
The session will start with a short introduction from Matt Levi and Sarah Davies, of the Mentor SMart club, followed by discussions and breakout sessions with feedback from mentors and mentees from the pilot which focussed on Employability and Career development.
Some of the questions covered in the session will include:
In the current climate what issues and topics might mentoring help you with?
How could one-to-one mentoring support your own professional development?
Any additional benefits identified for either a mentee, manager or organisation?
What obstacles might there be to accessing or enabling this support?
What potential does this offer to the HE Technical community?
Smart Mentoring is a targeted, online 1:1 mentoring service putting professionals in touch using everyday technology, with no requirement for individuals or institutions to invest in any new software or hardware, it is useful as a standalone resource and can benefit individual mentees, managers and organisations.
