Multiskilled Engineering Technician

Hours: Full time, permanent
Salary: £30,273 – £33,180 plus benefits
The Department of Bioengineering is looking for a talented, enthusiastic and proactive individual, with a background in mechanical and/or electrical/electronic engineering to help provide technical support for our departmental core workshops, makerspaces, research spaces and our undergraduate teaching laboratories. This will involve working across all departmental space, in both South Kensington and White City campuses.
Duties and responsibilities
The Successful candidate will be a member of the departments highly talented, multiskilled, diverse, and friendly core technical team, working closely with the Electronic and Mechanical Engineers. We are looking for an individual who is keen on continuous development in Engineering, have interest in a broad range of Engineering skills, including design and prototyping, an eagerness to learn new techniques and equipment, a proactive approach to problem solving, as well as being willing to undertake all relevant Health and Safety training.

Applicants are expected to be qualified to HNC or equivalent in mechanical or electronic engineering or related subject or equivalent knowledge and skills, and a specialist knowledge in electronics/electrical or mechanical engineering.
A good understanding of general Health and Safety in a workplace, and ideally within a workshop / laboratory, environment would be desirable.
