About the Role
The School of Geography is seeking to appoint a Laboratory Technician. The role of the technician will be four-fold;
1) to provide technical laboratory support in the broad area of physical geography and environmental science;
2) to support laboratory and field-based teaching;
3) to support field-based activities and maintaining equipment for research and consultancy-based activities;
4) to support consultancy opportunities within the School of Geography Laboratories.
You will have a BSc (or equivalent) in Geography, Earth/Environmental Sciences or related subject, or equivalent experience. You will have relevant experience of working in a technical or research environment, in a Higher Education, or equivalent setting including supporting staff and students (from Undergraduate to PhD) with their research and learning. You will have an understanding of the concepts of Physical Geography and/or Earth and Environmental sciences. Experience of teaching or providing training and/or support in a formal or informal environment would be an advantage.

The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London. It is a full-time (35 hours per week), permanent appointment. The starting salary will be Grade 3, in the range of £28,208 to £34,733 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
