A large and diverse team of technicians ensure that the University functions efficiently and delivers the levels of student experience both our undergraduates and postgraduates deserve and expect of us. Working in specialist laboratories, workshops, studios and IT facilities, our technical professionals play a key role supporting, guiding and advising across our university from sciences, art, design and technology, through to sports, ceramics, nursing and physiotherapy.

We are seeking to appoint a Technical Officer specialising in Chemistry within the Molecular Sciences technical team. The team supports Manchester Met students and staff across a range of subject areas within the Faculty of Science and Engineering.  As the successful candidate, you will act as a specialist in chemistry, providing technical advice and training to service users.

You will join a diverse team of technical staff, taking responsibility for the effective running of the service and laboratories, supporting learning, teaching, research and enterprise activities.

About you:
You will have a keen interest in chemistry and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service. You will also have excellent communication skills, a hands-on approach to all tasks, ability to work in a flexible manner and the knowledge and skills to provide help and support to students and colleagues.

You should have significant experience of a technical support role and be able to demonstrate a wide range of chemistry skills to support undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the Faculty of Science and Engineering.
