Technical Operations, Resources and Services (TORS) is a large cross-university team providing specialist Technical Support for teaching, research, and commercial activities. The health technical team are committed to providing excellent service supporting three Departments, Nursing and Midwifery, Allied Health Professionals, and Social Work, Social and Community Studies in our health specialist training facilities. You will be joining us at an exciting time as we develop our new estate to enhance the delivery of simulated practice placements for our healthcare students.
As the clinical simulation Technical Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team that provides expert guidance and support in the development and delivery of clinical and rehabilitation skill sessions and simulated learning experiences. You will be directly involved in generating proposals that outline the future requirements for specialist equipment and facilities. A key part of the role will be to develop and manage local health and safety systems, technical support services and other operational processes.
You do not need to have clinical simulation background, although this would be beneficial, but you do need experience of leading and managing a service delivery operation that is used by a range of stakeholders. Knowledge of the Higher Education environment is beneficial but not essential.
The role requires you to work collaboratively with finance, estates and timetabling teams, so excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. You’ll be committed to providing excellent customer service and demonstrate a professional, approach.
