Technical Services at Manchester Metropolitan University are recruiting to a new Technical Officer role.

An exciting new opening has arisen within Manchester Metropolitan University as a Technical Officer in the Engineering Makers team.

The role  

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual looking for a challenging and exciting role within the Technical Services team, the team supports students and staff across Arts & Humanities and Science & Engineering Maker Workshop spaces. 

There is a need for flexible working hours to meet the demands of the departments, the successful candidate will be required to work regular evenings

About you 

You will be able to demonstrate a wide range of skills and experience covering a broad range of Engineering/Craft Maker disciplines.

Possess a sound knowledge of relevant Health &Safety legislation associated with operations within a workshop/laboratory environment.

We are looking for someone with a keen eye for detail with excellent verbal and written communication skills with an enthusiasm to provide help and support to staff and students. 

Desirable attributes are flexibility to work across faculties, multidisciplinary, a proactive and positive attitude
