Overview
Applications are sought for a mammalian cell culture technician who will support cell biology research in the school. The mammalian cell culture research technician will be based in the group of Professor Viji Draviam investigating chromosomal instability mechanisms relevant to aggressive cancers. The postdoctoral researcher will be able to work collaboratively and lead their own fluorescent cell line screens. The candidate can also explore opportunities to work with industry partners or to secure collaborative funding to extend their work.
Candidates must have a PhD in Human Cell Biology or equivalent in a relevant subject. The post-holder must also have:
- experience in cell biology and molecular biology techniques
- experience with screening fluorescent cell lines
The School of Biological and Behavioral Sciences (SBBS) is one of the largest Schools within Queen Mary University of London. The school has three departments (Biochemistry, Biology, and Psychology), c100 academic staff, 32 administrative staff and 26 technicians (teaching and research).

The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London. It is a full-time, fixed-term position for 3 years to start as soon as possible. The salary will be in the range of Grade 4 at £37,348 – 43,592 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
