An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Core Facilities Team at Manchester Metropolitan University as a Mass Spectrometry Specialist.

The Role:Â
Working in the analytical core facility supporting education and funded research alongside commercial activities. Responsible for the delivery and future direction of mass spectrometry. Duties will include developing partnerships with external agencies and engaging in collaborative projects. To identify and assess the usefulness and to lead the introduction of new techniques. Method development, troubleshooting, maintenance, QC, health and safety and administration will also feature in this role.Â
About You:Â
As a technician specialist, the successful candidate will be expected to have experience in chromatography and mass spectrometry, different technologies in previous teaching and learning environments and specialist knowledge of the method development, analysis and maintenance of instrumentation relating to chromatography and mass spectrometry.
You will have a flexible approach to work and an ability to work on your initiative. You will be expected to participate in external networks and user groups, attend relevant events to keep up to date with the latest developments and techniques and share information with colleagues. Strong communication skills and a commitment to quality service will also be essential in succeeding in this post.Â
