Job Title: Technician Assistant

Contract type: Permanent, full time at 37 hours per week

Summary:

This vacancy is for a Technician Assistant in Pharmacy / Chemistry to support teaching and research in these laboratories. The role is primarily based in the Janet Lane-Claypon Building on the Brayford campus where you will work in a team of 5 technicians in the newly refurbished chemistry labs. The job is very varied and involves the preparation of labs for a range of subjects including pharmacy, forensic, analytical and synthetic chemistry, helping the academics to run practical classes by means of demonstrations, assisting students if required and clearing up afterwards. Technical support for research and commercial activities is also required in the nearby Joseph Banks Laboratories that house our well-equipped research laboratories.

Qualifications:

A higher qualification (HNC or degree) in a scientific subject and/or experience of working in a pharmacy / chemistry laboratory environment would be an advantage.

Job Title: Trainee Engineering Technician (x6)

Salary: Grade 2 £16,146 – £16,766 per annum

Contract type: Fixed Term for two years
